Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. Her most well-known role is her part as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson and also an Emmy Award 2010 for her performance. After the seventh season, Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended August 13 in 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received nominations for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who worked as Speech and Family Therapist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV who was a venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian. Sedgwick was of English heritage. Sedgwick has openly declared her Jewish heritage and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
